Hiking / Climbing

The Brunni region offers hiking enthusiasts of all ages a wide variety of walking and hiking trails from 30 minutes long to 6.5 hours or longer.

The following routes are especially interesting:

The “Brunni Pfad” nature trail (hiking time ca. 2.5 hours).

The scenic alpine trail “Walenpfad” from Brunni to Bannalp (hiking time ca. 3.5 hours).

Hiking trail from Ristis to Rughubbelhütte SAC (Swiss Alpine Club), hiking time ca. 2.5 hours, for experienced hikers; the alpine trail continues via Rotgrätli to Bannalp, with a hiking time of an additional 3 hours.

For a special thrill, try the “Tickle Trail”, a path with a variety of surfaces around the idyllic lake (“Härzlisee”) especially designed for walking barefoot and based on the principles of Kneipp.

Many roads lead not only to Rome, but also from the Brunni region to Engelberg in the valley. There are, in addition to narrow hiking trails, also wide, paved trails that are accessible with wheelchairs and prams, leading from Ristis via Schwand and to Engelberg (hiking time ca. 2.5 hours).

The shortest route is the stretch from Ristis to Engelberg via Flühmatt (hiking time ca. 1 hour).
